Tutoring that fits the school week in Bahrain

Bahrain is one of Qlive’s largest student groups. It is a small country with a large Indian and South Asian community, and we teach children in Manama, Riffa, Muharraq, Isa Town and the surrounding areas. Our teachers have taught 1,00,000+ hours of live classes, one-to-one. Schools usually run Sunday to Thursday, with Friday and Saturday as the weekend. Start and finish times vary from school to school, so we start from the hours that are actually free in your week.

Most families choose a slot in the late afternoon or evening, after school and a break, or a weekend morning. Bahrain time is two and a half hours behind India, so a 5 pm class in Manama is 7:30 pm for a teacher in Kerala. Every time you see from Qlive, in class confirmations, reminders and the Qlive Learn app, is shown in Bahrain time.

The syllabi children in Bahrain follow

Bahrain has several large Indian schools that follow CBSE, and CBSE is the syllabus we teach most across Qlive. We also teach children in:

  • IGCSE and British curriculum schools, through GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level
  • American curriculum schools
  • IB schools, at PYP, MYP and Diploma level
  • Kerala and other Indian state boards, for families preparing to move back to India

Tell us your child’s school and grade, and we match a teacher who teaches that syllabus. Classes then follow what your child is doing in school, chapter by chapter, rather than a generic course.

Arabic and the other school languages

Arabic is usually taught in private schools in Bahrain, and for children from non-Arabic speaking homes it is often the subject parents feel least able to help with. A child who misses the alphabet and basic reading in the early grades finds each new year harder.

Our Arabic teachers start where your child is. That might be letters, sounds and joining for a young child, or the grammar, comprehension and writing of the school textbook for an older one. Children with larger gaps can follow the Foundation programme, which rebuilds Arabic step by step through levels, and also covers maths, English, Hindi and Malayalam.

Hindi, Malayalam, Urdu, Tamil and French are common second languages in Indian schools in Bahrain, and we teach all of them. Where it helps, we match a teacher who speaks your home language, which helps younger children settle quickly.

Board exams and the senior years

For CBSE families, Class 10 and Class 12 board exams are the main milestones. Teachers work through the NCERT syllabus with past papers and timed practice, and Pulse checkpoints every two to three weeks show which chapters still need work. For CBSE Grade 9 and 10 maths and science, term exams built from chapters already covered are included at no extra cost.

Class 11 is a big step, especially in the science stream, where physics, chemistry and maths become much more demanding almost overnight. We teach physics, chemistry, biology, maths, accountancy, business studies, economics and computer science for the senior years, and IGCSE and A-Level students get the same approach for their papers.

How it works for families in Bahrain

  1. A free assessment. About 40 adaptive questions, guided live by a Qlive counsellor, ending with a report on your child’s strengths, what they are working on and the exact gaps.
  2. A matched teacher. Chosen for subject, syllabus, grade, your free times and, where it matters, language. A 45 minute demo class is available first if you want one.
  3. A fixed weekly slot. Classes are usually 60 minutes, live on Google Meet with the learning on Qlive Space, Qlive’s AI-powered, activity-based learning platform. Classes are recorded.
  4. A Student Success Partner. Someone you can trust at Qlive whose job is your child reaching the goal you set. They arrange extra classes, a revised plan or a conversation with the teacher when needed, and are a message away in the Qlive Learn app.

Before each class the Qlive Learn app asks you to confirm, change the time or skip that day, then sends reminders 15 and 5 minutes before with a button to join. Each class also has a chat in the app with the teacher and the Qlive team. Worksheets are set in Qlive Pulse, and you get a notice in the app when work is assigned and when it is marked.

Fees are set per student after the assessment, depending on subject, grade, curriculum and number of classes. Families in Bahrain usually pay by international bank transfer in USD, or by card.

Start with a free assessment

The first step is a free assessment. It shows you where your child stands in the subject, and there is no obligation to book classes afterwards.

Bahrain: questions parents ask

Are class times shown in Bahrain time?

Yes. Your weekly slot, the class confirmation and the reminders in the Qlive Learn app all show Bahrain time. Bahrain is two and a half hours behind India, so after-school evenings in Manama are at comfortable hours for our teachers.

Do you teach the CBSE syllabus used in Indian schools in Bahrain?

Yes. About three in four Qlive students follow CBSE, many of them in Indian schools in the Gulf. We also teach IGCSE, British, American and IB syllabi.

Can classes be on Friday or Saturday?

Yes. Many families in Bahrain choose a weekend slot, or one weekday evening plus one weekend class. Tell us your free times and we match a teacher who is available.

Do you teach Arabic for children who do not speak it at home?

Yes. Arabic is one of our most requested subjects. Teachers start at your child's real level, and the Foundation programme rebuilds Arabic step by step for children who are behind.

How do we pay from Bahrain?

Families in Bahrain usually pay by international bank transfer in USD, or by card. Fees are shared after the free assessment and billed for classes actually taken.
